Well kids, let’s see what’s on the agenda. Halloween is today, so I hope you're all getting your candy fix and if not today, all that Halloween candy will be 75% off at CVS come tomorrow. Election day is November 4th. And, this may seem a little premature, but we’ve got a full moon heading our way on November 5th. What do we have to say about all of that? Buckle up. Here’s what I’ve got…

Â
1. Halloween. Halloween on a Friday night means all kinds of fun for kids young and old alike. Kids get to run amuck knowing they don't have to be in bed early to get ready for school tomorrow. Parents don't have to worry about getting up to go to work. The sugar highs and belly aches that are sure to happen, won't seem quite so bad if no one has anywhere they have to be in the morning. However, here in the Woo it's cold, windy and wet, to all you parents out there, trick - or - treating with your kids, good luck and God speed...

Halloween is not enjoyed by everyone. Let's talk about Gibson. Gibson spends his days, his nights, any waking hour he's allowed, outside guarding his yard. What he's guarding it from we have yet to understand, but that's what he does. He paces, he chases, he barks and he scares all creatures away big and small...or so he thinks. On a night like Halloween when under no uncertain terms is he allowed outside, he practices that behavior inside - all 100 lbs of him. He goes from window to window, bouncing off chairs, beds, and knocks things down, doing whatever he can to get to a window or door to catch even the slightest glimpse of what's happening outside in his absence. Throw a honking car into the mix and he loses his ever-living mind. It's going to be a long night.

While Gibson is losing it, Beet is out and about roaming the streets of Boston checking out the Halloween sights. She tells me she's not trick or treating, but you never know. She could definitely pass for a trick or treater and in my opinion, she should capitalize on that. Exhibit 1, Dogs dress up and trick-or- treat too...

4. November 4th is election day and here’s what I’m going to say about that…I’m going to the polls and voting for the names I don’t recognize because those will be the candidates who didn’t waste all that money on useless campaign flyers/postcard/mailer thing-ies that have infiltrated my mailbox. None of them ever made inside my house, instead went directly to the recycling bin, except for today. Today they came inside and went directly in the shredder. Exhibit 1, nonsense.

5. Now that we’re going into November, the leaves are coming down, the sun isn’t shining as brightly, and it’s getting colder out, it’s time to turn the clocks back. So, if you go to bed Saturday night without changing the clocks, and then roll over around 9 am Sunday and think, ugh, I have to get out of bed, so I don’t waste the day away, remember, it’ll really only 8 o’clock, so roll back over and go back to sleep. You’re welcome.
Â

6. As if changing the clocks back isn’t enough to mess with us, we are coming up on our next full moon. The full moon for November will start to show itself on November 4th being at its peak by 8:19 am Wednesday Nov 5th. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say it feels like a full moon all the time, but what do I know.

7. It only took 40 years, but once again, Bryan Adams and I were reunited at the Garden. That’s right, it was like 1987 all over again, minus my partner in crime, Mike Margolis. Bryan must’ve known I was in the crowd because he made his way all the way to a smaller stage he had set up in back, just to get on up there, find me in the crowd, and wave. Poor bastard’s been pining for me all these years. Exhibit 2, Bryan Adams.
Â

8. My latest idea to add to potential retirement gigs was discovered while at the Bryan Adams concert last week. We were seated near a patron who accessed one of the many accessibility services provided by the Garden to ensure patrons get the full experience of an event they attend. Two American Sign Language interpreters were switching off and taking turns signing each song sung to the patrons seated in front of them. Doesn't sound like a bad gig to me...once I learn sign language you may just see me at your next concert.

The oldest Kap kid got busted. He recently sent me a text with his movie recommendation. Now, had Sam been reading The Antics regularly as he claims, he would have read that there have been several recent editions that talked about Ryan W's movie recommendation that led to sleepless nights, ridicule, a copy of a rotten tomatoes report and a now much cherished mug. Here's proof Sam hasn't been reading... Exhibit 3, the text.
*** Also, I will not be watching IT

10. Check this out, one of The Antics dedicated followers Angel Rivera was given an award last week for all his hard work and dedication to the work of the people. Angel was recognized by the Massachusetts Latino Police Officers Association as their 2025 Community Service Honoree. The community is lucky to have you Angel, as are we here at The Antics...in addition to all your hard work, you provide us with all sorts of material every week.
And last but not least, whether you're partaking in Halloween festivities this weekend or not, may you get your fill of candy and don't get egged.
Have a great weekend!
