Well kids, here we are, another Friday. Rainy, a little muggy out there, but the birds are chirping and if you're reading this, you're on the upside of the dirt, so that's a win. The weather is due to improve today...the high is said to be 79 degrees with only 25% precipitation, tomorrow, 71, cloudy and a chance of thunderstorms. But, don't quote me on this, I'm getting this info from Accuweather. If you're looking for a more accurate forecast and trying to figure out if you can mow your lawn tomorrow, you're going to have to call Mary Parenteau for that. Here's what I've got...

1. Most people who have a grandmother who is soon to be 103, automatically think the worst has happened, or the best, depending on how you’re looking at things, when the number of the nursing home comes up on their caller ID. Not me folks, my mind automatically goes to, hmmmm, the nursing home is calling, that only means that within the next few hours there’ll be something wrong with the 2000 Toyota Camry that had belonged to Gramme Edie that is now being driven by the youngest Kap kid. In turn, if there’s a problem with the Camry, within hours, I’m getting a call from the nursing home that Edie has gotten herself into some kind of trouble. I don’t care what any of you think, this is not a coincidence, the two are bizarrely connected. When one of them finally takes the dirt nap, the other will surely follow.

  1. Case in point. My phone rings and I see it's the nursing home. I answer and immediately the caller says, everything's fine, nothing urgent, she's okay, she's just going to be seeing the Nurse Practitioner tomorrow due to a problem with her hand. Okay, great, keep me posted. No sooner do I hang up do I hear the youngest Kap kid, on her way home from school, make her way down the street and approach the corner to pull up to our house. We knew someone had pulled up because there was no missing the noise the car was making. It did not surprise any of us that it was the Camry, whose exhaust pipe had split right down the middle, and with that, a noise comparable to a car from Fast and the Furious. More proof that the Camry and Edie are in fact, one.

3. The way things are going, perhaps children everywhere will have partially robotic grandparents, or maybe ones who are 100% artificial intelligence. Take this for instance, China has developed a hospital that consists of all artificial intelligence. Because health care isn’t scary enough, let’s have a hospital full of robots run the show. Glenn was right, robots are taking over. Exhibit 1, read all about it…

4. Here in the Woo we have some large buildings with lots of windows, that require washing to they keep looking shiny and spiffy. To maintain the crystal clear appearance of said windows, requires the services of professional window washers. This screen shot of a video sent to me of these two men suspended from a variety of apparatus, hanging off the side of a building washing windows. This is being added to my list of retirement ideas. Only change I would make is, I’d be wearing a Spiderman suit to work every…single…day.

5. The Kap kids pulled off the surprise of all surprises last weekend gathering some of my favorite people from near and far and arming them with this, Erin Paolini’s creation, my face on a sticker. I apologize in advance that you may see my mug in a store near you, your Dunkins drive thru, a gas station, or the bumper of a car, as it seems some of my closest family and friends have decided it would be entertaining to leave my smiling face in random places. Thank you, Glenn, for leaving my face at Wegmans on this Whiskey display. Nice.

Exhibit 3, apparently now I am promoting booze sales at your local Wegmans.

6. You never know what you’re going to find when out on a walk in the Woo. The middle kid was walking home from Worcester State when she happened upon this guy, this swallowtail butterfly. She found him standing on the sidewalk on May Street like he was hanging out waiting for the bus. When she stopped to check him out, she bent down, put her hand out and he hopped up on her finger. Instant connection made and soon named Pickle, this little guy didn't have anywhere else to be, so made his way home with the middle kid where he quickly made himself comfortable in a bouquet of flowers set up in front of the Celtics game. True story. Exhibit 4, Pickle the butterfly.

7. Gibson’s newest obsession, the dancing Cactus. A gift from Robyn Foley, this little dude repeats back what he hears. Gibson can’t figure out what he is, or what the hell he’s talking about. Exhibit 5, Gibsons new talking BFF.

8. High school seniors are in their final days of school. With 6 full days of school left, seems pointless for teachers to worry about assigned seats. Choose your battles friend and work smarter not harder. Also, I know there are only 6 days left, but here’s a fun fact…the youngest Kap kid’s name is not Marilyn…it is not Merrill. You’ve had 174 days to get her name right, why bother now?

9. My 90 something year old elder is at war with her 90 something year old neighbors. She insists that they are having illegal drugs delivered to them from Amazon. So much so that she’s begun to have it out with the Amazon driver when he makes deliveries to their apartment complex. I ran into the Amazon driver when I visited her this week and he asked what he should do, should he just let her believe he’s delivering drugs to the neighbors? I don’t know buddy, I’m out of ideas, the police are out of ideas, the neighbors sure as hell don’t know what to do about it, all they're trying to do is get their monthly supply of paper towels. So go for it - or better yet, do yourself a favor and request another route, because we’re not solving this anytime soon.

10. Charlie Payson gets mail…Where’s Charlie Payson been? Well, we at The Antics have been asking the same thing and decided to do something about it. If all goes well, there will be a Charlie Payson siting in the 02 in June…that is, if he accepts the invite for the Kap girls graduation celebration. Exhibit 6.

And last but not least, Have a great weekend!
