Your Weekly Pandemic Antics Thanksgiving Week Edition…
It’s a short week kids thanks to the Pilgrims and the Indians and all that good stuff...but do not despair…I’ve still got you covered for your Weekly Pandemic Antics. Despite you all thinking I was heading off the rails the last time I tried to share some inspirational words, I’m still going to tell you what I’m most thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday. Here’s what I’ve got….
1. My family. Without them I wouldn’t have any material for the weekly antics, and God knows they supply me with boundless amounts of material.
2. My Mother. For still having absolutely no faith that I can manage the cooking of a turkey or holiday meal and continues to do so. Fake cooking incompetence…been working for me since the late 90’s.
3. My co-workers. For having my back, allowing me to rant, and keeping me sane...anyone who doesn’t work at ESW quite gets us, our humor, or how we do what we do.
4. My neighbors. For making sharing a driveway and being quarantined on the corner of Asbury Road fun… every- single- day.
5. My nieces, nephew and my kids for keeping Sue Miller entertained during quarantine. (please see exhibit #1).
6. Gramma Edie…for making me laugh, and cry, and pull my hair out. She makes me nuts, but I’m lucky to have her.
7. For my cousins and their kids because they’re always up for an adventure and old school shenanigans no matter how old we get. And they don’t rat me out to my Mother or my Husband.
8. For my Brother. For having and raising a child who is just like he was…her antics and how he manages them is like Christmas to my soul – every time I’m lucky enough to hear about what she’s done or said….
9. Hannah, Harley, Goose and the Pot Belly Pig Dog. For keeping the non-dog lovers away from my house…anyone who knows me knows that I like my dogs far more than I like most people. If my dog doesn’t like you, I don’t like you.
10. For Al. He built Meri a kick ass shed / 5 star accommodation living quarters for the bunnies. Now I have my basement and my laundry room back and can do my laundry without being harassed and stared at.
11. And for your bonus this week kids…be smart, be thankful and keep it moving. Should you see a wild turkey wandering in your neighborhood or on the side of the road as we often do, just remember…it could be worse. You could be that turkey and have to worry about being served up with a side dish on this fine Thursday afternoon.
Have a great Thanksgiving!!!
